Silvervale, Trammel, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – March 28, 2011 – by Ashlynn – Another great round of darts was held in the Silvervale Candy Shop this evening with Lady Oni as our wonderful host. I was there to defend my current standing against a great mass of opponents and the night was interesting indeed!
A lot of people came to watch round three!
Turnout was very high for the evening and the atmosphere was very jovial. However, despite my recent run of luck, Niva once again displayed her unerring accuracy with a dart and took first place! Second place went to Naitch with Marcus Aurellius grabbing third place.
Marcus also took the high score prize for the night (hitting a bullseye for 50 points!) while this week, the banana dart trophy went to Lord Nanoc!

The final round will take place on April 4th in Nidaros at 9pm where we will discover who will be crowned grand champion. As always, there are other prizes and trophies up for grabs so even if you missed out on the first three rounds, there’s still something to play for!

But with two rounds left, things could quickly change and there’s still prizes and titles to be won, from Grand Champion to the High Score Award and even the much loved Banana Dart Trophy!

Ruins of Magincia, Trammel, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – March 26, 2011 – by Ashlynn – This evening, Royal forces supported by an army of Volunteers and Meer allies from Lakeshire made landfall in Magincia, routed the Bane Chosen army and killed their leader, Virtue Bane.

Summoning any and all volunteers to Castle Britannia, Lord Balandar, Commander Foxx and Captain Gwen explained the situation to the gathered crowd. Virtue Bane and his forces still occupied Maginicia, he was weaving powerful magic to create duplicates of himself and it was important he be stopped once and for all!
Soon enough, the Captain led our hastily assembled force to the northern beach of Magincia where we found a large force of Meer and Ethereal Avengers already fighting Virtue Bane’s minions. The volunteers quickly joined the fray and there were large numbers of casualties on both sides. Unfortunately, it seemed that the Meer had not forgiven the Bane Chosen sympathizers amongst us and attacked us as readily as they did Virtue Bane’s minions. As a result, I quickly hid nearby and opted to take notes while using my limited healing magics where I could.

During the battle, we were informed by Lord Balandar that we had to retrieve a crystal or perhaps multiple crystals from the fallen Virtue Bane duplicates. It was also imperative that we destroy all the duplicates before fighting the true Virtue Bane as their continued existence made him more powerful.
The battle raged on for quite some time and though it seemed as though we were making little progress, eventually the enemy was overcome and the daemon’s blood soon stained the charred grass of Magincia Isle. Still our task was not done however, and Lord Balandar led us to the Bane Chosen shrine built where the old moongate used to be and, performing some kind of strange ritual, destroyed the monument to Virtue Bane.
Our task complete, were departed Magincia for an old valley hidden somewhere in Ilshenar where Lord Balandar used the magic of the crystals and a great crystal statue to “solidify the cleansing” of the island as he put it. Once done, some of us were rewarded with artifacts recovered from the enemy and then we were free to be on our way.

With Magincia now free from the grip of Virtue Bane, rebuilding of the city can now begin and Royal architects and surveyors already have plans in place to start reconstruction as soon as possible. Certainly good news for the sole remaining survivors of the disaster that befell the City of Pride.
The Sea, Trammel, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – March 25, 2011 – by Ashlynn –Mariners beware for there is a new sea monster stalking the great open waters that surround the Kingdom of Britannia. An enormous wooden beast with a giant belly and nine mouths that spit red-hot iron!
Our mighty vessel sustained very little damage during the engagement.
Mayor Zanku of Nidaros has recently acquired one of the rare wooden galleys built by the esteemed shipwrights of Britannia and this evening, a crew was mustered to take the monstrous construct out an assert dominance over the seas.
The sheer size of the vessel presented some challenges when it came to navigation and with nine culverin on deck, a sizable crew was required to operate them all. Still we quickly adapted to piloting the ship and what orcish pirates we did run into stood little chance against the firepower we arrayed against them. Their raiders were quickly crippled and the contents of their hold soon added to our own.
With such a powerful ship now in their arsenal, the Nidaros Fleet is certainly a force to be reckoned with on the high seas of Sosaria!

Dragons Watch, Felucca, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – March 21, 2011 – by Ashlynn – The second round of the USA Darts League was held tonight in Dragons Watch. AND I WON. If you’ll forgive the brief moment of unprofessionalism.
A tavern full of drunken dart throwers. What could go wrong?
Yes, many came for the event with a few new faces joining some familiar ones from the last round. The contest was fun and tense at times with only a point separating winner and loser in a few of the rounds. After a ferocious duel of darts (with both Niva’s attempts at intimidating the dartboard and Delta Butch’s naked throwing proving less effective this time), the night ended with ME in First Place, Nanoc in Second Place and Zanku in Third.
Lord Nanoc once again stole away the Highest Score in a round award of the evening with 60 points. This time around, the Banana Trophy was split between three people: Mayor Zanku, Delta Butch and Nanoc. Congratulations to the three of them for being such an exciting danger to the tavern room denizens!
The next round of the Darts Tournament will be held next monday in Silvervale at 9pm by the eastern clock. With two rounds still to go, there’s still plenty to play for so don’t miss it!
Guardians Gate, Trammel, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – March 14, 2011 – by Ashlynn – Today marked the return of an old favourite throughout the realm of Britannia: the famous Darts League! This is a four week event with a double elimination format and points all adding up over each round to make a final tally used to calculate who will be crowned the Grand Champion!
The first round was held in Guardians Gate, hosted by Lady Oni and Delta Butch and people came from all over Sosaria to participate, braving wind, rain and mongbats. Even I decided to enter thinking I might stand a chance.
Some attempted to increase their mobility by removing all their clothes. It was quite shocking really!
There were prizes for each individual round too, with Niva snatching first place and a large chest of 500,000 gold coins (I am fairly certain the dart board itself was frightened of her). Delta Butch grabbed second place and Lady Phoenix trailed behind the both of them in third. The rest of us were left on the sidelines to contemplate our poor marksmanship, except for Lord Nanoc who managed to grab the high score prize for the round!
Mayor Zanku however was awarded the Banana Dart trophy for the lowest score, a rather impressive ONE point. Though fish oil allegedy contributed to this dazzling performance, my advice to anyone who sees the Mayor of Nidaros holding a dart is to dive for cover should you wish to retain sight in both eyes!
The SECOND ROUND will be held at Dragon’s Watch Tavern on Monday, March 21st at 9pm by the eastern clock. Be there! Or be… several points down for skipping a round.
