Guardians Gate, Trammel, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – March 14, 2011 – by Ashlynn – Today marked the return of an old favourite throughout the realm of Britannia: the famous Darts League! This is a four week event with a double elimination format and points all adding up over each round to make a final tally used to calculate who will be crowned the Grand Champion!
The first round was held in Guardians Gate, hosted by Lady Oni and Delta Butch and people came from all over Sosaria to participate, braving wind, rain and mongbats. Even I decided to enter thinking I might stand a chance.
Some attempted to increase their mobility by removing all their clothes. It was quite shocking really!
There were prizes for each individual round too, with Niva snatching first place and a large chest of 500,000 gold coins (I am fairly certain the dart board itself was frightened of her). Delta Butch grabbed second place and Lady Phoenix trailed behind the both of them in third. The rest of us were left on the sidelines to contemplate our poor marksmanship, except for Lord Nanoc who managed to grab the high score prize for the round!
Mayor Zanku however was awarded the Banana Dart trophy for the lowest score, a rather impressive ONE point. Though fish oil allegedy contributed to this dazzling performance, my advice to anyone who sees the Mayor of Nidaros holding a dart is to dive for cover should you wish to retain sight in both eyes!
The SECOND ROUND will be held at Dragon’s Watch Tavern on Monday, March 21st at 9pm by the eastern clock. Be there! Or be… several points down for skipping a round.
